A tramway named “desire”
Yes, Mr. Fergus, a tramway for Western Gatineau is an excellent idea and obviously a great boost to our economic development. Not only will it bring to work and back home many federal civil servants at rush hours, but it will increase the number of visitors to our magnificent Aylmer Historic Square. Already-existing reserved lanes on Aylmer Road and Taché Boulevard would be put to better use and less pollution. Track extensions to the Plateau via St-Raymond, to Tunney’s Pasture via the Old Bridge, and to downtown Jacques Cartier Park via Laurier would pick up thousands of tourists at the Canadian Museum of History to bring them to our Principale Street boutiques and restaurants, all the way to Symmes Museum, the Marina, and our many attractions and festivities at this end of Gatineau. A tramway named “Desire”, ASAP.
