A new urban library at the small school in my neighbourhood
La petite école nursery school in my neighbourhood, located at 584 Wilfrid-Lavigne Boulevard, now has an urban library.
Lucerne District Councillor Gilles Chagnon made the announcement on his official Facebook page on October 3. In an interview with the Bulletin, Mr Chagnon expressed his intention to install two more of these book exchange boxes in his district by the end of spring 2020.
“Small projects like this are really what I’m trying to encourage in my district. It’s a local service and an activity for families. It allows for community engagement and encourages seniors, adults and children to get out and walk.”
The new boxes that will be installed in Mr Chagnon’s district are in addition to various other book exchange stations planned in Aylmer. La Garderie de la Marina, CPE Le Châtelet, the Village School and the Connexion Resource Centre are all waiting to receive such facilities.
Mr Chagnon invites organizations in his district to contact him if they are interested in hosting a new urban library.
