LETTER
A modern election?
I spent over an hour online trying to find videos of the municipal election debates and of the candidates talking about themselves and their platforms. I found just about nothing! Why are the debates not available for online viewing? Why does the city not provide links to each candidate’s site? (All the city provides is their phone number – am I supposed to call each candidate?)
To the candidates: Why don’t you post informative videos explaining your platform? This is unacceptable in 2017! How can modern-day voters be expected to take interest in the election if there is nothing online? I want to be well-informed as I vote on Sunday, but I guess I’ll just have to wait at home until someone knocks on my door to tell me about themselves and hope I’m not in the middle of changing a diaper or placating a screaming toddler when they come so that I can listen to them.
