A good spring for some
In all the news about the floods, has anyone noticed how well the trees around us are doing this year? Flower gardens, also. It may have been a cold and wet spring for us, but the trees seem to love it. Even the flooding has a good side. Everyone involved lost a lot with the damages, but the trees are doing exceptionally well in flooded areas. Every spring trees require a tremendous amount of water to push out their leaves and buds, tonnes of water needed to move the nutrients up the tree trunks to their peaks. A dry spring can kill seed production entirely for that year – but this year we have a bumper crop of seeds from the trees.
Maybe global warming will mean more trees!
