LETTER
A fork in the road of history
I had the privilege to observe the presidential election and all the comments and speculations from many sources, on a recent visit to the USA. The course of our future is taking a shape. Words like 'movement' awake my own words from Alberta in the eighties when for the first time I presented the Multiple/Multilateral Sculpture – see “Sculptor starts Art movement”, November, 1981.
There are many expressions like Chancellor Merkel’s: that we stand at a fork in our civilization. It is my honest and rational understanding that we are entering an era of cooperation on a new phase of the world’s development. Personal feelings are not rational thought, and that should be our aim. That is the work ahead of us.
