A century goes by, celebrations of a birthday
Winnifred “Winnie” Rees was born in Blackville, New Brunswick on September 4, 1916. Once she graduated high school, she took up nursing. She moved to Montreal to complete part of her training. It was there that she met her husband. They settled in LaSalle, Quebec. She raised four boys. Besides the four boys, she now had 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren
Winnifred has lived at the Chartwell Monastery in Aylmer, for 8 years. She is a devoted Christian who loves Bible study and prayer meetings. She knits and crochets prayer shawls for friends. She is a member of St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church where she is famous for her notes of encouragement and thanks.
