$130,000 from the Quebec government for Outaouais athletes
The Conseil de développement du sport de Gatineau (CDSG) is happy to count on growing financial support from the Quebec government.
The Quebec government granted $130,000 to the CDSG, one of the regional centres of the multisport training network of the National institute of sport in Quebec, an increase of $80,000 compared to previous years.
Since its creation, the CDSG plays a major role in the awarding and coordination of specialized services to athletes in the espoir, élite, relève and excellence categories.
“The increase in the investment from the Quebec government will allow the organization to reach new heights, notably in supporting more athletes from the Outaouais, in developing innovative projects to promote athletic excellence as well as improving the services already being offered to athletes. Thus, the CDSG positions itself as a key player in the development of athletes and coaches in the region,” said the president of the board of directors, Mr Daniel Leduc.
Specifically, the CDSG is counting on the vast network of partners allowing athletes from the region to reach their optimal performance. The support of partners from the medical, educational, sport and business communities is the essence of the organization and allows the CDSG to contribute to the development of sport in the Outaouais.
“I want to reiterate the importance of the implication of our funders, such as the Quebec government and the National institute of sport in Quebec, along with the support of the city of Gatineau, which allows us to ensure the continuity of the CDSG,” concluded Mr Leduc.
